Passion for Truth

Those of you who share my passion will understand, you will instinctively relate to my relentless questioning of everything to do with horses. I accept nothing as fact until proven, I challenge everything about how horses are treated.

I will not rest until my understanding is complete, that may never happen in my lifetime. One thing I know, is that many of the revelations I have made, will profoundly affect your understanding and love of our mutual passion.

Nutrition

Have you ever know of a person who had a disease but did not go to the doctor until it was too late. Welcome to the world of equines. because equines are stoic by nature, they may give little or no warning of the impending illnesses. Sometimes it’s too late, the damage is done, sometimes we are blessed and their horses are diagnosed in a timely way. I want America’s horses healthy on the inside as well as on the outside.

Are your feed purchases based only on the bag price difference between the same type of feeds?

With most feeds normally available in America that purchase criteria is extremely valid. Because pelleted feeds are essentially similar, they tend to be classed as commodity items, so the cost per bag between companies products is a valid way of determining what you consider to be the most appropriate value for you. It has been that way for a long time, and people feel comfortable making their informed decisions based on the price per bag for a particular pelleted feed or grain.

Do you understand the difference between pelleted feed and extruded horse feed?

There is a fundamental difference between pelleted and extruded horse feed that makes a comparison bag for bag very difficult if not impossible. The major difference between the two is in the digestibility, or bio-availability. Wet steam extrusion of high quality raw ingredients, results in a horse feed that is extremely digestible, with that digestibility ranging in the low 90%. To put it simply, for every dollar you spend on horse feed, over $.90 gets utilized by your horse as energy, systemic maintenance, and building or re-building their body. Pelleted feeds on the other hand cannot even come close to that sort of digestibility. with a decrease in digestibility comes a decrease in value. It’s pretty obvious that value in horse feed is lost once it is excreted as manure.

Does it worry you that most horse colic and laminitic episodes including founder are feed related?

Many issues in horses have been blamed on the feed that they eat. Because horses are herbivores, and essentially grass eaters, any departure from that eating regime can and does result in problems on a regular basis. Colic treatment and surgery is common amongst veterinary practices. Laminitis is another issue that can be often traced back to what a horse has placed in his or her mouth.

Is the total yearly cost of ownership of your horse is something you consider.

Many people ignore all the different variable costs associated with owning equines. Many of these costs can be lowered or eliminated. As people’s pocketbooks tighten, and the economy settles into the new reality, people will be looking for innovative ways to save when it comes to their horses well-being. If you are one of those people who considers different concepts when arriving at the decisions that affect their horses health and security, you are going to enjoy reading more about what I have to offer.

Razza (RZA Ammen Ra)
The equine nutcase no one wanted.
Out of 77 Arabians seized at Pilot Point TX in August, one remained overlooked and un-adopted. He has just arrived

with me from the Humane Society of North Texas. No
longer does he face an uncertain future due to his many
issues.
MEET RAZZA AND HEAR HIS STORY
BUCKY,
the young mare with a death sentence because of her aggression. Getting put down seemed the only option for
this rescued mare who bit a finger nearly off her
temporary shelter barn co-owner. Saved from a
Mexican slaughterhouse, she now faced an uncertain
future due to her dangerous aggression.
SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE MEET.
